Harbour Notes

Personal notes on sailing, weather and small harbours of the North Sea.

Early autumn on the Little Belt

The wind came round to the west overnight and by morning the harbour was quiet again. Low cloud, a steady 8 knots, and the ferry on time. Coffee at the kiosk, then an hour of varnish work before the rain.

Tide tables and other small comforts

A paper tide table still beats the phone when the battery is low and your hands are cold. Keep one in a plastic sleeve under the chart table; replace it every spring.
